Accompanist Editions

These accompanist editions have resulted after many years of putting up with highly detailed and unnecesarily complicated vocal scores, not to mention that often photocopies, and, at times, originals are almost impossible to read. Also, modern anthologies seem to allow for no more than 6 measures per page, which makes life difficult as the book is reluctant to stay open.

From a playing point of view it is not necessary to know what orchestral instrument is playing, or to have to read parts in smaller print etc.

What I have tried to achieve is a 'within reason' reduction in what needs to be played, in an effort to make both the accompanist’s and singing teacher’s life somewhat easier.

It does not follow that the accompanist (coach) or singer is relieved of vital research into the music.
